QUB win the 2021 Conroy Cup
It has been twenty-six years of waiting for the Queen’s U20s as they won the Irish Universities Conroy Cup for only the second time ever. Superb performances throughout the day brought our U20’s Conroy glory beating MU Barnhall and UCD on the way to the final before a great victory against Trinty College Dublin. This squad really is the future of Queen’s Rugby and it has some really exciting young players whom we know will break into the Senior AIL squad, in the not-too-distant future.
A lot of these lads missed out on Schools Cup rugby during their final year at school so I hope that the consolation of winning an Irish Universities medal on this historic day, made up for a little of the disappointment they endured during the pandemic.
